On Friday 14th September 2018, a party of 5 Rotarians arrived at Heathrow Airport for a long weekend visit to our club. On Friday night a welcome supper was held at Rotary House for the Deaf on King Street Norwich, with food provided by members of the Norwich Club

After a good night's rest, on Saturday, members of Norwich and Novi Sad met in the centre of Norwich for a guided tour of some of the historical buildings in Norwich. These included St Peter Mancroft Church, The Guildhall and the Norwich Castle keep. Having worked up a thirst and an appetite, lunch was taken at the Last Pub Standing. We were especially pleased to welcome the Lord Mayor, Martin Schmierer, who joined us for lunch
After a free afternoon in the City, it was time to dress up for our formal Saturday evening meal at the Warwick Street Social. We met in the garden for pre-dinner drinks and then went upstairs to the restaurant. We enjoyed an excellent two course meal, and pennants were exchanged between the two clubs. To mark the 20th anniversary of the friendship of the two clubs, a huge chocolate cake had been made for the occasion.
Sunday started with a drive out to Neatishead Broad to visit the Nancy Oldfield Trust. This charity offers disabled and socially disadvantaged people excitement, freedom, adventure and provide wheelchair access on the Norfolk Broads and is supported by the Rotary Club of Norwich. We enjoyed a trip out to Barton Broad on one of their electric cruisers in brilliant sunshine and this gave our guests an opportunity to see one of Norfolk's finest attributes.
Sunday lunch was in the White Horse Neatishead and set us up nicely for a trip around the Radar Museum just outside the village. After an informative talk and wander round, it was time to say goodbye to our friends from Novi Sad and take them to Stanstead airport for the next leg of their visit. The five members were flying to Edinburgh for a 3 day visit.
A great fun weekend, making new friends, re-acquainting with old friends and cementing our friendship with one of our twinned clubs.
